KARACHI: Deputy Mayor Karachi Salman Abdullah Murad has announced the inauguration of a water filtration plant in UC8 Saddar Town, addressing a significant issue of clean drinking water availability for the residents.
According to Karachi Metropolitan Corporation, the Sindh government is also focusing on replacing clean water supply lines from Dhabji pumping stations to the city, with a new line being laid from the canal to resolve the leakage issues that result in the loss of 40 million gallons of water daily from the hub canal.
The inauguration ceremony, attended by Deputy Mayor Karachi Salman Abdullah Murad, Khan, and City Members of Council Karachi, highlighted the major step towards providing clean drinking water to the residents of Saddar Town. The Deputy Mayor emphasized that this move aligns with the People’s Party’s commitment to addressing the water crisis in the area. The operational Water and Sewerage Corporation’s TP3 plant is already treating and releasing 35 million gallons of water into the ocean daily, contributing to water recycling efforts.
Deputy Mayor Murad reiterated that the People’s Party is dedicated to fulfilling its promises, with Bilawal Bhutto Zardari responsible for ensuring the delivery of water to homes. The party workers are committed to playing their roles in fulfilling these promises. The Deputy Mayor also underscored that clean drinking water is an essential need for every individual, and the leadership of the People’s Party has prioritized solving this issue for the thousands of residents in Saddar Town.
