Uzbekistan’s Defense Deputy Minister Meets with Pakistan’s Military Leadership


RAWALPINDI: Major General Burkhanov Akhmad Jamalovich, Deputy Minister of Defence and Commander of the Air Defence Forces and Air Force of the Republic of Uzbekistan, met with General Sahir Shamshad Mirza, Chairman Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee, at the Joint Staff Headquarters in Rawalpindi. The meeting focused on discussions of bilateral strategic interests and regional security.



According to a statement by Inter Services Public Relations, both military leaders expressed a mutual interest in enhancing military-to-military cooperation between Uzbekistan and Pakistan. The discussions centered on the evolving security challenges in the region.



The Uzbek official praised the professionalism of the Pakistan Armed Forces and acknowledged their efforts and sacrifices in combating terrorism.



Upon his arrival at the Joint Staff Headquarters, Major General Jamalovich was greeted with a Guard of Honour by a tri-services contingent, highlighting the significance of the visit.
