Jammu: In Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir, Indian troops have intensified their cordon-and-search operations (CASOs) in Kathua district, marking the tenth day of activity in the region.
According to Kashmir Media Service, operations are ongoing in the Panjtirthi area of the Ramkote belt, with Indian forces expanding their searches into the Ghati Juthana forest.
Officials have confirmed that the area is sealed off, with additional troops dispatched to support the operation. Further details about the ongoing activities are yet to be disclosed.
The escalation follows an incident on Friday, in which two Kashmiri youth were killed by Indian forces in what has been described as a fake encounter. The forces alleged the youths were militants. During the subsequent searches, Indian troops arrested six members of a single family.
The situation remains tense as residents await more information on the scope and impact of the operations.
