New York: UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres has expressed appreciation for Pakistan’s mediation efforts aimed at fostering peace in the Middle East, highlighting the importance of dialogue in resolving regional tensions.
According to Radio Pakistan, Stephane Dujarric, spokesperson for the UN Secretary-General, conveyed Guterres’s acknowledgment during a news briefing in New York. Dujarric emphasized that dialogue remains the only viable path to achieving a lasting resolution to the Gulf crisis, underscoring the UN’s concern over potential escalations between the United States and Iran.
The Secretary-General’s spokesperson further mentioned the significance of contributions from Pakistan, Qatar, Egypt, and other nations in striving towards a political solution in the region. These diplomatic efforts are seen as crucial in preventing further hostilities and promoting stability in the Middle East.
