Islamabad: A 12-year-old boy was successfully rescued by the Tarnol Police team in Islamabad, and three individuals were arrested in connection with the alleged kidnapping, as announced in a press release. According to Islamabad Capital Police, the Tarnol Police Station officers conducted a routine vehicle check that led to the discovery of the distressed child, resulting in the arrest of the main suspect, Muhammad Owais, and his alleged accomplices, Muhammad Niaz and Ali Ahmed.

SSP Operations Islamabad, Qazi Ali Raza, reported that the police officers grew suspicious upon noticing the boy’s condition and proceeded to question him separately. The child revealed that he had been abducted from Abbottabad and was being transported to Islamabad. Acting on this information, the police immediately secured the child’s safety and detained the suspects.

Further investigation disclosed that the primary suspect, Muhammad Owais, who is a cousin of the kidnapped child, allegedly demanded a ransom of Rs. 100 million from the boy’s father. The police intervention effectively thwarted the kidnapping-for-ransom attempt, ensuring the child’s safe return.

The child’s family expressed their gratitude for the swift police action, while SSP Raza emphasized the importance of protecting citizens’ safety. He reiterated that the police would continue to take decisive action against criminal activities to maintain public security. The investigation into the incident is ongoing, and all aspects are being thoroughly examined.
