Islamabad: The Islamabad Police successfully ensured a peaceful conclusion to the main 12 Rabi-ul-Awwal procession, implementing comprehensive security measures across the capital. The event saw extensive participation with security duties performed by over 3,000 officers, supported by specialized units and traffic management strategies.

According to Islamabad Capital Police, the security arrangements were meticulously planned under the guidance of Inspector General of Police (IGP) Islamabad Syed Ali Nasir Rizvi. These measures extended to mosques, religious gatherings, and the primary procession, which began at Jamia Masjid Al-Raza in G-7 and concluded at Darbar Sakhi Mehmood Badshah in Aabpara.

The operation involved zonal SPs, SDPOs, and SHOs supervising their respective areas, while senior officers conducted site visits to ensure effective security. The deployment included SWAT and DELTA Force commandos, CTD officials, and female commandos, with additional support from armed and plainclothes officers.

Special traffic arrangements were implemented by the Islamabad Traffic Police to maintain order, alongside rigorous checks along procession routes and key entry and exit points. Security checks were conducted using walk-through gates and metal detectors, with the Bomb Disposal Squad performing area sweeps.

The coordinated efforts of the Islamabad Police and cooperation from relevant departments allowed the main procession and other gatherings to conclude safely. Senior officers acknowledged the public’s cooperation, reiterating the commitment to safeguarding citizens and maintaining public order.
