Islamabad: The Chief Justice of Pakistan, acting as Chairman of the National Judicial (Policy Making) Committee, engaged in a consultative meeting with the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Bar Council at the Supreme Court of Pakistan’s Branch Registry in Peshawar. This meeting, held today, forms part of an ongoing consultative process aimed at developing a standardized national e-Filing framework for the judiciary.

According to Press Information Department, the meeting included discussions on the National Standardized E-Filing System, which is designed to create a consistent and rules-compliant platform that aligns with the procedural and legal requirements of judicial proceedings. The initiative seeks to simplify filing, ensure procedural consistency, enhance case tracking, and maintain a unified electronic case record across various levels of the judiciary.

The Chief Justice emphasized the importance of involving the Bar, as primary users of the system, in the development of standardized e-Filing templates. He encouraged the delegation to contribute practical insights to ensure the system is accessible and meets professional needs.

Delegates from the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Bar Council expressed their support for the initiative, recognizing the benefits of a uniform electronic filing system for both advocates and litigants. A committee, including Registrars from all High Courts, along with nominated members from each Provincial Bar Council and the Islamabad Bar Council, will review and finalize the e-Filing templates. The finalized framework will then be submitted to the NJPMC for policy approval.

This initiative is part of the judiciary’s larger effort to modernize court processes and enhance justice delivery through technological integration, aiming to make legal proceedings more accessible and efficient.
