Islamabad, January 28, 2023 (PPI-OT):Islamabad capital police apprehended six outlaws from different areas of the city and recovered liquor, drugs and weapons with ammunition from their possession, a police public relations officer said. He said that, following the special directions of Inspector General of Police (IGP) Islamabad Dr. Akbar Nasir Khan, the Islamabad capital police has intensified crackdown against the criminal elements in order to eliminate the crime from the city.

Following these directives, the Kohsar police team arrested two bootleggers namely Shamraiz Siddique and Arbaz Mohsin and recovered 33 litres of liquor from their possession. Tarnol police team arrested an accused namely Allah Muhammad involved in possessing illegal weapons and recovered one 30 bore pistol with ammunition from his possession.

Similarly, the Shahzad Town police team arrested an accused namely Atif Hussain and recovered 1250 gram hashish from his possession. Moreover, the Khanna police team arrested a lady drug peddler namely Gulshan and recovered 570 gram hashish from her possession. Koral police arrested an accused namely Muhammad Abid involved in possessing illegal weapons and recovered one 30 bore pistol with ammunition from his possession.

Cases have been registered against the nabbed accused and further investigation is underway. IGP Islamabad directed all senior officials for effective crackdown against the accused involved in drug peddling and possessing illegal weapons. The performance of police officials in this regard would be reviewed on a continuous basis, he maintained.
