Sindh Chief Minister Reviews Road Projects, Aims for Timely Completion


KARACHI: Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah has reviewed the Rs140 billion federal Public Sector Development Programme (PSDP) focusing on road projects, urging expedited execution to boost regional connectivity and economic growth. According to Chief Minister Sindh, the meeting held at the CM House was attended by key officials, including the Minister for Planning and Development and the Minister for Works, among others, to assess the progress of major road infrastructure projects planned for 2025-26 and to strategize for PSDP 2026-27.



The meeting highlighted ongoing projects, including the extension of the Sindh Coastal Highway and improvements to various key roads across the province, with a total cost of over Rs140.9 billion under a cost-sharing arrangement between federal and provincial governments. With Rs17.94 billion released this financial year, the Chief Minister emphasized resolving administrative and technical issues swiftly to ensure timely completion of these projects. Murad Ali Shah stressed that construction quality should not be compromised, highlighting that these projects are crucial for enhancing trade, reducing travel time, and supporting regional connectivity.



The meeting also finalized proposals for the upcoming PSDP 2026-27, including new connectivity projects like the additional carriageway from Jacobabad Bypass to Kandhkot and the dualisation of key roads in Sindh. The Chief Minister noted that improved infrastructure is vital for Sindh’s economic strategy, urging strict monitoring of PSDP schemes to ensure efficient fund utilization and real benefits for the people of Sindh.
