Islamabad, Senator Faisal Saleem Rehman presided over the Senate Standing Committee on Interior for the first time since his election as Chairman, focusing on enhancing national security measures and internal policies.
According to Senate of Pakistan, the committee convened to scrutinize current internal security strategies and discuss improvements in law enforcement capabilities. The meeting covered a range of topics, including the modernization of police forces, the enhancement of border security, and the implementation of more effective counter-terrorism measures.
The session also addressed the need for comprehensive reforms in the immigration system and improvements in the emergency response services. Members of the committee proposed several legislative updates aimed at strengthening the legal framework governing internal affairs, particularly in response to recent security challenges.
Senator Rehman emphasized the importance of cooperation between different government agencies and the integration of advanced technology in security operations. He called for greater accountability and transparency within the interior ministry to foster public trust and improve service delivery.
The committee agreed to forward a set of recommendations to the Senate, aimed at bolstering Pakistan’s interior policies and ensuring a safer environment for its citizens.
