Moscow: A pivotal meeting took place in Moscow on October 2, 2024, between Alexey Overchuk, Deputy Prime Minister of Russia, and Abdul Aleem Khan, Pakistan’s Minister of Privatization, Investment and Communications. The discussions focused on advancing Russian-Pakistani economic cooperation, emphasizing the importance of bilateral and multilateral engagements in trade and investment.
According to Press Information Department, both parties acknowledged the growth of their countries’ interactions, particularly in transport, logistics, industrial sectors, and investment opportunities. Deputy Prime Minister Overchuk expressed his appreciation for Minister Khan’s active involvement in the Russian-Pakistan Trade and Investment Forum, which convened in Moscow over the past two days.
During the meeting, Overchuk highlighted Pakistan’s interest in the North-South International Transport Corridor, noting its potential to become a crucial Eurasian trade route. Minister Khan reciprocated the sentiment, underscoring the strategic importance of enhanced connectivity with Russia to broaden bilateral trade horizons. The talks concluded with a mutual agreement to maintain active communication and detailed discussions on future collaborative projects through their respective governmental departments.
