Rahul Gandhi Criticizes Uttar Pradesh’s Governance, Calls It a “Guarantee of Jungle Raj”

New Delhi, Congress leader Rahul Gandhi has launched a vehement critique of the governance in Uttar Pradesh, labeling the state’s “double engine government” as a direct “guarantee of jungle raj.” This term refers to a lawless and uncontrolled state of affairs, indicating a severe critique of the current administration’s handling of law and order in the state.

According to Kashmir Media Service, Gandhi, in a post on X, condemned the law and order situation in Uttar Pradesh, describing it as a glaring example of the collaboration between the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and certain media outlets in propagating falsehoods. He underscored the gravity of the situation with recent incidents of crimes against women, including the tragic cases where the bodies of minor sisters were found hanging from trees and the gang rape of a woman by BJP members on the IIT-BHU campus. Gandhi also highlighted the forced suicide of a woman judge due to lack of justice and the murder of a Dalit student in Rampur, returning from her Class 10 exams.

Gandhi’s assertions come amidst a statewide protest organized by Congress workers to voice their dissent against the deteriorating law and order situation under the BJP-led government. He urged the public to look beyond the “false image created by Modi media” and recognize the dire reality of governance in Uttar Pradesh.

The Congress leader’s critique has reignited discussions on the effectiveness of the “double engine government” — a term often used by the BJP to describe the purported benefits of having the same party govern both the state and the central government. Gandhi’s call for protests across every district and tehsil of Uttar Pradesh aims to mobilize public opinion against what he describes as an “alliance of criminals.”

This development marks a significant moment of political contention in Uttar Pradesh, highlighting the ongoing challenges in addressing crime and ensuring justice within the state. Gandhi’s remarks have set the stage for a broader debate on governance, public safety, and the role of political leadership in maintaining law and order.
