Islamabad: Federal Minister for Petroleum Ali Pervaiz Malik engaged in separate meetings with senior representatives of VTTI and Honeywell UOP to explore investment opportunities in energy infrastructure and the upgradation of Pakistan’s refinery sector.
According to Press Information Department, the Minister met with a delegation from VTTI, an energy infrastructure company specializing in storage and terminal solutions. The discussion centered on VTTI’s interest in expanding operations in Pakistan by developing bonded warehousing and re-export facilities, and establishing terminal infrastructure for LPG storage. The company is also exploring opportunities for expanding LPG infrastructure and supply chains.
Federal Minister Malik expressed the Government’s commitment to facilitating investment in the energy infrastructure. He affirmed the Government’s goal of providing clean, reliable, and affordable energy while maintaining a transparent pricing framework.
In a separate meeting with Honeywell UOP’s Shams Qureshi, the conversation focused on the company’s technological contributions to Pakistan’s refinery sector and its interest in investing in refinery upgradation. The Honeywell UOP delegation highlighted opportunities for deploying advanced refining technologies and investing in the country’s refinery modernization program.
Qureshi noted the potential to leverage US financing for refinery upgrades and related investments. The Minister reiterated that refinery modernization is a government priority to enhance efficiency, domestic refining capabilities, and the production of higher-quality petroleum products.
Both meetings underscored efforts to strengthen Pakistan’s energy infrastructure and attract international investment by leveraging technology and financing opportunities within the energy sector.
