KARACHI: Mayor Karachi Barrister Murtaza Wahab has announced the completion and opening of the two tracks leading to and from Quaidabad Bridge for traffic, a move aimed at easing transportation for residents of Quaidabad, Landhi, Port Qasim, and surrounding industrial and residential areas. The repair work addresses the long-standing issues caused by the deteriorated condition of the road, which had been a source of inconvenience for commuters in the area. The construction work on the road stretching from Anwar Baloch Hotel to Murghikhana Bus Stop has been completed swiftly, utilizing all available resources to serve the people of Karachi by constructing, repairing, and restoring major roads and highways affected by rains and other factors.
According to Karachi Metropolitan Corporation (KMC), the engineering department has successfully improved both traffic routes from Anwar Baloch Hotel to Murghikhana Bus Stop on the Quaidabad Bridge. This development is expected to reduce travel time and fuel consumption while alleviating traffic congestion. Mayor Wahab expressed gratitude towards the citizens for their cooperation during the construction period and highlighted the proactive measures taken by the engineering department in response to the bridge and road’s poor condition. The repairs also offer convenience to those using the Malir River Bridge.
Mayor Wahab emphasized the importance of completing the ongoing road construction and repair work throughout the city promptly. He pointed out that, with the support of the provincial government, an effective strategy is being implemented under Baldia Uzma Karachi to ensure the timely completion of development projects, thereby maximizing facilities for the citizens. Additionally, he highlighted the need for quality in construction work to improve the city’s basic infrastructure, which could contribute to making Karachi more beautiful and environmentally sustainable.
