Islamabad, November 8, 2023: A delegation from Quaid-e-Azam University had an interactive visit to the Safe City Command and Control Center, following special directives from the Islamabad Capital City Police Officer Dr. Akbar Nasir Khan. Students were introduced to the advanced technological facets of the project, including the command center, data hub, and operations hall.
According to Islamabad Capital Police, highlighted the significant impact of the Safe City initiative in enhancing various departments’ operations, such as the Police Operations Center and Emergency Control, through modern technology. This includes a comprehensive E-Challan System and the emergency helpline “Pucar-15”.
The delegation also learned about the integral role of Safe City’s advanced face recognition cameras, strategically installed at city entry and exit points, in crime prevention and citizen safety. It was noted that 42% of crimes in Islamabad are resolved with assistance from the Command and Control Center.
Concluding their visit, the students met with the Chief Police Officer of Safe City/Traffic, recognizing the sophisticated technology employed by the Capital Police and expressing gratitude for the enlightening experience.
