Lahore: The Punjab Police IGP Complaint Center 1787 has successfully resolved more than 25,000 public complaints this year, as part of its ongoing efforts to ensure timely redressal of grievances. The Inspector General of Police Punjab, Abdul Kareem, stated that the complaints are being addressed within the prescribed timelines, and the monitoring system has been strengthened to improve the center’s effectiveness.
According to Punjab Police, the center has made significant strides in dealing with complaints across various categories. Among the resolved issues, 12,137 complaints were related to case registration, 6,277 to slow investigations, 1,820 to police services, and over 5,000 pertained to departmental and other matters. Additionally, 1,354 complaints concerning the arrest of accused individuals, 2,303 related to recovery, and 1,265 associated with faulty investigations have been addressed. The department also resolved 667 complaints about the cancellation of false cases and 421 regarding changes of investigation. IG Punjab Abdul Kareem urged citizens to contact the 1787 Complaint Center without hesitation for grievances against police officials.
