HAFIZABAD: Punjab Police in Hafizabad has achieved a significant breakthrough by recovering stolen property valued at over 162.2 million rupees and returning it to 599 owners. The initiative marks a notable success in the region’s ongoing efforts to combat theft and illegal possession of firearms.
According to a statement by Punjab Police, a wide array of recovered items, including more than 33.1 million rupees in cash, over 20 tolas of gold jewelry, and four tractors, were returned to their rightful owners. The operation also saw the return of one jeep, 181 motorcycles, 10 rickshaws, and 73 mobile phones.
Additionally, the police managed to retrieve 47 electric motors, 33 solar panels, and 80 livestock, all of which were handed back to their original owners. These efforts demonstrate a focused approach to addressing property-related crimes in the region.
In a parallel development, law enforcement arrested 648 individuals for illegal possession of firearms, registering 505 cases. The seized weapons included 20 Kalashnikovs, 373 pistols, 5 repeaters, 22 shotguns, 35 rifles, and thousands of rounds of ammunition, highlighting the scale of the operation.
Under the leadership of DPO Hafizabad, Faisal Gulzar, police successfully detained more than 234 criminals from 53 gangs involved in theft and robbery. The initiative has been met with commendation from IG Punjab Dr. Usman Anwar, who praised the Hafizabad Police for their effective performance.
The owners of the recovered goods expressed their gratitude towards DPO Faisal Gulzar and his team for their commitment and diligence in addressing crime in the area.
