Punjab Police Claims Breakthrough Against Kacha Criminals in 2025

Rahim Yar Khan: Punjab Police have announced a significant breakthrough in their ongoing operations against Kacha criminals, with the reported killing of a high-profile gangster in the region. In an encounter at Kacha Machka, Rahim Yar Khan, police forces fatally shot Mir Hassan, also known as Bega Chandia, a leading figure of the Indhar Gang. During the operation, authorities recovered a Kalashnikov and hundreds of bullets. Hassan had been implicated in the deaths of 13 police personnel, including Sub-Inspector Ramzan, and was involved in an array of serious crimes such as kidnapping, murder, and robbery.

According to Punjab Police, the operation was initiated following a tip-off about a planned major robbery by Tanveer Indhar’s gang. Machka Police established a checkpoint at Sutrki Bachao Bund, where the confrontation ensued. The gang members opened fire upon encountering the police, who responded, resulting in Hassan’s death. Other gang members managed to escape, and no police personnel were injured, although their vehicle sustained minor damage. The operation was led by DSP Bhong, with support from SHOs, elite teams, and a substantial police contingent, backed by armored vehicles and heavy weaponry.

IG Punjab Dr. Usman Anwar commended DPO Rizwan Umar Gondal and the Machka Police team for their successful operation. He emphasized the commitment to restoring peace in the Kacha area, stating that intelligence-driven operations would persist until the complete eradication of criminal elements in the region.
