Punjab Police Allocates Over Rs. 1.5 Million for Medical Expenses of Officers and Families

Islamabad: In a significant move to enhance the welfare of its personnel, Punjab Police, under the leadership of Inspector General Dr. Usman Anwar, has allocated an additional Rs. 1.55 million for the medical treatment of police employees and their families facing serious health issues.

According to Punjab Police announcement issued on 21 September 2024, the beneficiaries of this latest disbursement include Lahore Police’s Driver Constable Faisal Shehzad, who received Rs. 500,000 for eye treatment, and Security Constable Saleem Ullah, who was granted Rs. 200,000 for cancer treatment. Constable Muhammad Saleem, also from Lahore Police, received Rs. 200,000 for leg and knee surgery, while the wife of retired DSP Raja Sadaqat Ali was allocated Rs. 250,000 for knee surgery. Additionally, Constable Muhammad Shakeel from Faisalabad was provided Rs. 200,000 for an eye operation, and an employee of the Welfare Branch received Rs. 200,000 for major surgery.

IG Punjab emphasized the department’s commitment to ensuring the best possible health welfare for its personnel and their families. This commitment is supported by Memorandums of Understanding (MOUs) with hospitals to provide quality and affordable medical care. The police force will continue to leverage welfare resources to support the health needs of its members.
