Punjab Highway Patrol Enhances Law Enforcement and Traffic Management

Lahore, The Punjab Highway Patrol (PHP) has intensified its law enforcement activities and service delivery across the province under the directives of Inspector General of Punjab Police, Dr. Usman Anwar. The PHP is committed to improving road safety, reducing crime, and ensuring smooth traffic flow on the highways, particularly focusing on the effective field patrolling in beat areas.

According to Punjab Police, the PHP checked 613,818 individuals using the E-Police Post app last week, resulting in the arrest of 145 proclaimed offenders and court absconders. Additionally, the report detailed the inspection of 280,497 vehicles, leading to the recovery of 49 stolen vehicles and motorcycles. As part of road safety measures, the PHP issued 63,655 e-challans for traffic violations and managed axle load by legal actions against 32,000 overloaded vehicles, collecting fines totaling 26.5 million rupees.

The PHP’s efforts also extended to community services, including reuniting eleven missing children with their families, issuing 2350 driving licenses, and removing 679 encroachments to enhance traffic flow. Dr. Anwar lauded the PHP for their exemplary performance, which received a 99.7% positive feedback rate from the citizens, and urged continued diligence to maintain law and order and assist the public on the highways.
