Lahore: A delegation from Punjab, led by Education Minister Rana Sikandar Hayat and Special Assistant Ali Dar, visited China’s National Big Data (Guizhou) Comprehensive Pilot Zone, focusing on potential digital cooperation. The visit, representing Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif, highlighted the possible benefits of big data technologies for Pakistan’s development needs.
According to Chief Minister of Punjab, the delegation received a comprehensive briefing on the historical evolution of the big data industry and the pilot zone’s contributions to governance, public welfare, and industrial growth. The Punjab officials expressed their admiration for China’s achievements in digital innovation and voiced interest in exploring collaborative digital initiatives between the two countries.
The delegates emphasized the potential of big data technologies to address various challenges in Punjab, such as smog and environmental monitoring. The pilot zone’s applications in data storage, smart logistics, environmental monitoring, autonomous vehicles, and artificial intelligence were noted as key areas where Punjab could benefit from enhanced cooperation and technology exchange.
