LAHORE: Chief Minister Punjab Maryam Nawaz Sharif has mandated the removal of obstructions caused by illegal ramps outside houses and called for the use of recycled plastic drain covers along roadsides. She has also directed city entry points to have names displayed on landscaped plots.

According to Directorate General Public Relation – Govt of Punjab, Ms. Sharif presided over a meeting to assess development projects in the Sargodha and Dera Ghazi Khan divisions under the own-source revenue model. Twenty projects are planned for the Sargodha division, with specific allocations for Sargodha district, Khushab, and Bhakkar. Sargodha city will see five major road projects, including Dairy Road and Khayyam Chowk Overhead Bridge Road, while Khushab will benefit from six road projects, such as those at Jahaz Chowk and Main Bazaar Quaidabad. Bhakkar will undertake six projects, including GPO Chowk Road.

In Rajanpur, six projects, including the Kotab Canal-Indus Highway link and Post Office Road, have been approved, with additional development plans for Rajanpur city and its tehsils. Sewerage and drainage schemes are prioritized for rural areas such as Rojhan and Jampur, and electronic traffic signals are to be installed on congested roads in Bhakkar and other cities. The meeting also agreed to ban concrete flowerpots on roadsides and medians.
