LAHORE: The Punjab Chief Minister Inspection Team’s late-night inspections of hospitals in Okara and Chichawatni have revealed issues including overcharging at a hospital parking facility and deficiencies in civic services. The findings have prompted Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif to demand explanations and immediate corrective measures.

According to Directorate General Public Relation – Govt of Punjab, the inspection at THQ Hospital Chichawatni led to the discovery of complaints regarding excessive parking charges. The inspection team has ordered the cancellation of the parking contract and directed the registration of a case against those responsible for the overcharging. In Okara district, the team noted stagnant rainwater and non-functional streetlights, leading the Chief Minister to express displeasure and seek immediate explanations from the deputy commissioners of Okara and Sahiwal.

Additionally, Sharif has instructed authorities to commence the reconstruction of the deteriorating Depalpur Road without delay, underscoring the government’s commitment to addressing infrastructure and service-related issues in the region.
