Punjab and Huawei to Enhance AI and Digital Infrastructure Cooperation


Lahore: Chief Minister Punjab Maryam Nawaz Sharif has held discussions with senior officials of Huawei in China to expand cooperation in artificial intelligence and digital infrastructure. According to Chief Minister of Punjab, the collaboration will involve training 1,000 young individuals and 300 women as Huawei master trainers in AI. The meeting also explored establishing an Artificial Intelligence Delivery Unit and six data centers, including a sovereign data center at the Nawaz Sharif IT City.



The discussions included cooperation in smart cities, healthcare, education, and manufacturing, with a focus on AI, cloud technologies, and smart public services. CM Punjab emphasized the importance of strategic partnerships with global technology firms to foster a digitally empowered region. Special Assistant Ali Dar highlighted Punjab’s initiatives in AI deployment across various sectors and the establishment of an AI office, noting the province’s significant potential for technology-driven growth. Huawei expressed commitment to promoting digital transformation and sustainable development in Punjab.
