Islamabad: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif expressed support for advancements made by the Board of Peace in implementing the disarmament process outlined in the Gaza Peace Plan.
According to Radio Pakistan, Sharif praised the efforts of countries such as the United States, Egypt, Qatar, and Turkiye for their role in the progress. Sharif credited former President Donald Trump’s leadership as instrumental in this development, noting it as a significant achievement for the Board of Peace.
Sharif emphasized that Pakistan anticipates concrete steps will be taken to fulfill the commitments of the Gaza Peace Plan. He expressed hope that these efforts will facilitate Palestinian self-determination through a credible political process in line with international legitimacy and UN resolutions. The ultimate goal, he stated, is the establishment of an independent State of Palestine based on pre-1967 borders with Al-Quds Al-Sharif as its capital.
