Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif Embarks on Five-Day Official Visit to China

Islamabad, Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif has embarked on a significant five-day official visit to China today, following invitations from Chinese President Xi Jinping and Premier Li Qiang. This visit is aimed at bolstering the bilateral relations between Pakistan and China, with a focus on expanding economic, technological, and strategic cooperation.

According to Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, the Prime Minister’s itinerary includes stops in Xi’an, Shenzhen, and Beijing. In the capital, he will engage in delegation-level talks with Premier Li Qiang and meet other high-ranking officials, including President Xi Jinping and Zhao Leji, Chairman of the Standing Committee of the National People’s Congress.

A key component of the visit will involve discussions with executives from top Chinese corporations in the fields of oil and gas, energy, information communication technology, and emerging technologies. Additionally, Prime Minister Sharif will address the China-Pakistan Business Forum in Shenzhen, which will gather prominent business leaders, entrepreneurs, and investors from both nations.

The visit will also include tours of various Economic and Agricultural Zones in China, showcasing the country’s advancements in these sectors. The discussions are expected to cover a broad range of topics, including enhancements to the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor, and deeper collaboration in security, defense, energy, space, science and technology, and education sectors.
