Riyadh: Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif has embarked on a two-day visit to Saudi Arabia to participate in the “One Water Summit” being held in Riyadh. The summit is a collaborative initiative involving Saudi Arabia, France, Kazakhstan, and the World Bank, aiming to foster global cooperation and a unified international approach to water resource management.
According to Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, the Prime Minister will address a roundtable at the summit, focusing on restoration, preservation, and adaptation concerning freshwater resources and wetlands. His address will highlight Pakistan’s efforts in water conservation, climate resilience, water quality improvement, livelihood creation, and biodiversity conservation.
The Prime Minister will also emphasize the significance of international collaboration to address the effects of climate-induced floods, extreme weather patterns, and heat stress on water resources and ecosystems. In addition to his summit engagements, he is expected to hold bilateral meetings with other participating leaders.
Accompanying the Prime Minister on this visit are Minister for Information and Broadcasting Attaullah Tarar and Special Assistant Tariq Fatemi.
