Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif Arrives in Bishkek for Strategic SCO Meetings

BISHKEK: Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif has arrived in Bishkek for a three-day official visit to the Kyrgyz Republic, marking a significant engagement with regional leaders. The visit includes participation in the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation (SCO) Council of Heads of State meeting and the SCO Plus Summit, where Pakistan will assume the Chairmanship of the SCO Council of Heads of State for the next year.

According to Radio Pakistan, Prime Minister Sharif was welcomed by Adylbek Kasymaliev, Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers of Kyrgyzstan, upon his arrival. During his visit, the Prime Minister is set to hold bilateral meetings with leaders from the participating countries and attend the opening ceremony of the World Nomad Games in Bishkek.

The Prime Minister’s itinerary includes a key meeting with Kyrgyz President Sadyr Zhaparov, where discussions will cover the entire spectrum of relations between Pakistan and Kyrgyzstan. Both sides aim to comprehensively review and explore avenues to enhance cooperation in areas such as trade and investment, energy, regional connectivity, education, tourism, and people-to-people exchanges.
