President Zardari Extends Congratulations to Malaysia on Independence Day

Islamabad: President Asif Ali Zardari has extended his heartfelt congratulations to the Government and people of Malaysia on the occasion of Merdeka Day, commemorating the nation’s 69th Independence Day. In his message, President Zardari highlighted the significance of Merdeka Day, describing it as a pivotal moment in Malaysia’s history that underscores the aspirations of its founding fathers and the collective efforts of its leadership and citizens.

According to Radio Pakistan, President Zardari addressed a letter to Sultan Ibrahim, the Yang Di-Pertuan Agong of Malaysia, in which he emphasized the longstanding and cordial relations between Pakistan and Malaysia. These relations, he noted, are based on shared values, common faith, mutual trust, and cooperation. The President pointed out that bilateral ties have been reinforced in various sectors, including trade and investment, education, defence, culture, and people-to-people exchanges.

President Zardari expressed optimism about the future of Pakistan-Malaysia relations, asserting that he anticipates continued collaboration that will benefit both nations.
