KARACHI: The completion and inauguration of the Korangi-Landhi Flyover has been heralded as a significant milestone in the development of Karachi’s infrastructure, according to Karamullah Waqasi, the Pakistan Peoples Party Parliamentary Leader in the Karachi Metropolitan Corporation. Aimed at improving traffic flow and commuting facilities for residents, this project is part of a broader initiative by the Sindh government and local leadership to modernize the city’s infrastructure and provide tangible benefits to its citizens.

According to Karachi Metropolitan Corporation, the Korangi-Landhi Flyover, located on 12,000 Road in Korangi No. 5, has been fully constructed, with physical progress reaching 100 percent and financial progress at 97.24 percent. The flyover spans 515 meters, featuring a central bridge of 240 meters, an up-ramp of 156 meters, and a down-ramp of 119 meters, with a total expenditure of approximately Rs746.628 million. This development is expected to facilitate daily commuting and improve access to the industrial zones of Korangi and Landhi.

The allocation of Rs4 billion for infrastructure enhancement in the Korangi and Landhi industrial areas underscores the city’s commitment to fostering a business-friendly environment. With Rs2 billion designated for each zone, the goal is to strengthen industrial infrastructure and promote employment opportunities. The Korangi-Landhi Flyover is part of a series of completed projects, including the Korangi Causeway and Taj Haider Flyover, reflecting the ongoing efforts to upgrade Karachi’s urban landscape.
