Prime Minister Orders Establishment of Facilitation Desks for Fuel Subsidy Scheme

Islamabad: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has directed the establishment of facilitation desks to assist citizens in accessing the fuel subsidy scheme, which is aimed at providing relief to owners of motorcycles, rickshaws, and vehicles up to 800cc. The initiative involves administration officials, volunteers, and petrol pump staff to ensure effective guidance and support for eligible citizens.

According to Radio Pakistan, the Prime Minister emphasized the importance of these desks during a review meeting of the PM Special Relief Scheme, held in Islamabad. The personnel at the facilitation desks are expected to assist citizens with registration and other necessary formalities, while relevant authorities are tasked with raising public awareness about the scheme.

The meeting was informed that after a pilot phase in Islamabad, the scheme has been expanded nationwide, including in Azad Jammu and Kashmir and Gilgit-Baltistan. The registration process is designed to be user-friendly, requiring only four basic pieces of information: CNIC number, vehicle number plate, province of registration, and vehicle registration date.

Details about the scheme, available in Urdu, can be accessed on its official website, www.pmfuelrelief.pk. The number of successful registrations is reportedly increasing, with provincial governments providing full cooperation for the scheme’s nationwide rollout.
