Islamabad: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif emphasized on Thursday that providing talented and deserving students in Pakistan with access to quality, modern education on a merit basis remains the government’s foremost priority. During a meeting in Islamabad focused on the establishment of Daanish University, the Prime Minister outlined the institution’s role in offering world-class educational opportunities to the nation’s youth.
According to Radio Pakistan, the Prime Minister stated that Daanish University is set to become a center of excellence in technology, offering exceptional educational, research, and technological facilities. The institution aims to attract and nurture talented students purely on merit, reflecting the government’s commitment to fostering educational growth and innovation.
The meeting also included briefings on the progress of various directives pertaining to the university’s establishment. It was revealed that 185 applications have been received for faculty positions, highlighting significant interest in the initiative. Furthermore, a talent hunt process has been initiated for students currently in the second year of FSc and A-Levels, aiming to enroll them in Daanish University’s Virtual School. Selected students will benefit from five months of free classes.
Construction of the Daanish University campus is slated for completion by next year, marking a critical step in realizing the government’s educational objectives.
