President Zardari Congratulates Uzbek Leader on Independence Anniversary


Islamabad: President Asif Ali Zardari extended his congratulations to President Shavkat Mirziyoyev and the people of Uzbekistan on the occasion of their 35th Independence Day. The message highlighted the strong bilateral ties between the two nations.



According to Press Information Department, President Zardari emphasized the importance Pakistan places on its relationship with Uzbekistan, which is based on shared faith, cultural ties, mutual trust, and a common vision for regional peace and prosperity. He noted the growth in cooperation between the countries across various sectors, including political, economic, trade, connectivity, defense, and cultural exchanges.



President Zardari also reflected on President Mirziyoyev’s state visit to Pakistan in February, which he described as a catalyst for strengthening the strategic partnership between the two nations. He mentioned that the visit resulted in productive discussions and agreements that demonstrate the commitment of both countries to convert their friendship into practical benefits for their citizens.



The President expressed optimism that joint efforts would further enhance the partnership, boost regional connectivity, and foster economic cooperation, aligning with their shared goals for peace and prosperity.
