Islamabad: President Asif Ali Zardari has extended congratulations to the leadership and people of Saudi Arabia on the occasion of the Kingdom’s 96th National Day, emphasizing the strengthening of bilateral relations through recent defense agreements.

According to Press Information Department, President Zardari conveyed his felicitations through letters addressed to Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud and Crown Prince and Prime Minister Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud. In his messages, President Zardari underscored the deep-rooted ties between the two nations, citing shared values and history as the foundation of their partnership.

The President highlighted the importance of the Strategic Mutual Defence Agreement and the Makkah Joint Defence Agreement, stating that these accords enhance the strategic aspects of the Pakistan-Saudi relationship. He noted that the agreements serve as significant milestones, contributing to regional peace and security.

President Zardari also expressed optimism about the continued growth of relations between the two countries, highlighting the potential for expanded cooperation in areas of mutual interest. In his message to the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, President Zardari expressed his anticipation of a future visit to Pakistan and the opportunity to further strengthen bilateral ties.
