President Zardari Awards Nishan-i-Imtiaz (Military) to Indonesian Naval Chief


Islamabad: President Asif Ali Zardari has awarded the Nishan-i-Imtiaz (Military) to Admiral Dr. Muhammad Ali, the Chief of the Indonesian Navy, in recognition of his efforts to enhance the relationship between the naval forces of Pakistan and Indonesia. The accolade was presented during a Special Investiture Ceremony at Aiwan-e-Sadr.



According to Press Information Department, the event was attended by various esteemed guests, including Chief of the Naval Staff Admiral Naveed Ashraf, members of Parliament, and representatives from the diplomatic community. Admiral Dr. Muhammad Ali later met with President Zardari, who extended his congratulations on receiving the distinguished award.



During their meeting, President Zardari highlighted the strong and enduring ties between Pakistan and Indonesia, emphasizing the importance of increasing naval cooperation. He pointed out the significant potential in the blue economy and maritime development between the two nations. The President also praised the Indonesian Navy’s consistent participation in exercises organized by the Pakistan Navy.



Admiral Dr. Muhammad Ali was accompanied by the Indonesian Ambassador, Lt Gen (Ret.) Chandra W. Sukotjo, during his visit. Chief of the Naval Staff Admiral Naveed Ashraf and Senator Saleem Mandviwalla were also present at the meeting.
