Islamabad: President Asif Ali Zardari and Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif have expressed their condolences following the death of King Harald V of Norway, highlighting the impact of his decades-long service both to his nation and in fostering relations with Pakistan.
According to Radio Pakistan, President Zardari conveyed his condolences through a post on the social media platform X, addressing Queen Sonja, Crown Prince Haakon, the Royal Family, and the people of Norway. He commended King Harald for his long-standing commitment to Norway and his role in strengthening ties between the two countries.
Prime Minister Sharif also shared his condolences via X, offering them on behalf of the Government and the people of Pakistan. He emphasized the solidarity of Pakistan with the Norwegian people during this time of mourning and recognized King Harald’s dedication to his country. The Prime Minister noted that the thoughts and prayers of Pakistan are with Norway as they navigate this loss.
