PM Urges Turkish Investors to Explore Opportunities in Pakistan’s Economic Zones


ISTANBUL: Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif has called on Turkish investors to collaborate with Pakistan in joint ventures across sectors such as mines and minerals, energy, information technology, and artificial intelligence. Addressing the Pakistan-Türkiye B2B Conference in Istanbul, where Turkish Vice President Cevdet Yilmaz and a significant number of Turkish investors were present, the Prime Minister emphasized the potential for economic cooperation between the two nations.



According to Radio Pakistan, the Prime Minister announced the allocation of one thousand acres in Karachi, designated as the Recep Tayyip Erdogan Special Economic Zone, specifically for Turkish investors. Highlighting Pakistan’s demographic advantage, he noted that 60 percent of the population comprises youth, which he termed as a valuable asset for propelling economic growth through IT and AI initiatives.



The Prime Minister acknowledged Türkiye’s substantial industrial progress under President Recep Tayyip Erdogan’s leadership, particularly in the automobile sector, which has reached a competitive level with Europe. Special Assistant to the Prime Minister on Privatization Mohammad Ali also addressed the conference, outlining investment prospects in energy distribution, airports, motorways, and the health and hospitality industries. A video presentation showcased Pakistan’s potential to Turkish investors, underscoring opportunities in various sectors.
