Islamabad: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has instructed the Small and Medium Enterprises Development Authority (SMEDA) to develop a comprehensive strategy aimed at providing financial support to small and medium-sized industries and entrepreneurs nationwide. During a meeting in the capital, he emphasized the importance of promoting entrepreneurship and ensuring equal access to facilities and technical assistance across the country.

According to Radio Pakistan, Sharif highlighted the need for SMEDA to expand its existing programs that focus on increasing women’s participation in small and medium-sized industries. He further urged the effective use of digital platforms to help local entrepreneurs reach both national and international markets.

Sharif also stated that SMEDA’s business development strategy should encompass a wide range of regions and sectors. He called for the creation of special initiatives to establish production and commercial linkages for agricultural commodities. The meeting attendees were informed that efforts are ongoing at various levels to bolster small and medium-sized industries and support entrepreneurs.
