Jammu: Deputy Chief Minister of Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir Surinder Kumar Chaudhry has declared that the struggle for the restoration of special status to the territory is a collective endeavor involving every citizen of the region.
According to Kashmir Media Service, Chaudhry, while addressing a gathering in Jammu, emphasized that individuals from all ideological and faith backgrounds are united in the demand for the return of special status.
Surinder Kumar Chaudhry articulated that the aspiration for reinstating special status in IIOJK is a universal demand across the societal spectrum. He underscored that representatives of every faith in the region, including Hindus, Muslims, Sikhs, and Christians, are advocating for the restoration of their rights. The deputy chief minister stressed that these rights have been unjustly taken away and should be returned expeditiously.
Chaudhry also referred to a resolution passed by the IIOJK Assembly in its recent session, which served as a reminder to the Indian Home Minister of his commitment to restore statehood to Kashmir. He urged that the minister should honor this promise and return the rights that have been stripped away from the people of Jammu and Kashmir.
He reiterated that this movement transcends the roles of chief minister and deputy chief minister, highlighting that it is a people’s movement. Chaudhry called upon every citizen in Jammu and Kashmir to actively participate in this legitimate struggle for their rights.
