Islamabad: The Ministry of Foreign Affairs is orchestrating the repatriation of 22 Pakistani survivors from a maritime incident near the Dakhla port in Morocco. The return of these individuals to Pakistan will be conducted in phases following collaborative efforts with Moroccan authorities.
According to a statement by Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, the Pakistan Embassy in Rabat has been at the forefront, working alongside Moroccan authorities to manage relief efforts and conclude the repatriation process. The consular team stationed in Dakhla has played a significant role in planning the survivors’ return.
The Foreign Ministry’s Crisis Management Unit has been actively involved in overseeing the situation. It has provided necessary support to those affected and maintained communication with their families. A critical part of the repatriation process, national identity verification, was swiftly completed in cooperation with the Interior Ministry and relevant departments.
In a separate effort, the Foreign Ministry is also coordinating the return of 11 Pakistani nationals from Mauritania. These individuals have opted to return voluntarily and will follow a different repatriation process.
The welfare of Pakistani nationals overseas remains a priority for the government, which is committed to providing all possible assistance in such matters.
