Pakistani Leaders Extend Greetings to Turkey on Victory Day


ISLAMABAD: President Asif Ali Zardari and Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif of Pakistan have extended greetings to the Turkish leadership and populace on the occasion of Turkey’s Victory Day. Both leaders conveyed their messages of solidarity and historical camaraderie via posts on the social media platform X.



According to Radio Pakistan, President Zardari emphasized the enduring and unique relationship between Pakistan and Turkey, highlighting the historical, faith-based, and supportive ties that bind the two nations. He underscored the significance of the Great Victory of August 30, 1922, in Turkey’s history and expressed optimism about the future growth of the bilateral relationship.



Prime Minister Sharif also expressed his sentiments on X, aligning Pakistan with Turkey in commemorating their legacy of courage and national resolve. He highlighted the deep-rooted bonds between the two countries, which have been strengthened over centuries through shared faith and history. The Prime Minister referenced the Makkah Joint Defence Agreement, which includes Saudi Arabia, as a testament to their shared commitment to security and cooperation. He further reiterated Pakistan’s dedication to enhancing its strategic partnership with Turkey across various sectors for mutual prosperity and security, expressing hope for the continued flourishing of the friendship between the two nations for future generations.
