Pakistan Urges UN to Form Tribunal for Investigating Alleged Israeli War Crimes

Karachi, Pakistan has officially called for the formation of a special tribunal and accountability mechanism to address alleged war crimes by Israel against Palestinians. This demand was voiced by Pakistan’s Permanent Representative to the United Nations, Munir Akram, during an Emergency Special Session of the UN General Assembly focused on the situation in Palestine.

According to Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, Ambassador Munir Akram advocated for the establishment of an international mechanism dedicated to protecting Palestinian civilians, particularly women and children in Gaza and the West Bank, including East Jerusalem. He stressed the urgency of this action to safeguard these populations from continued aggression by occupation forces and extremist colonialist settlers.

In his address, the envoy underscored the critical need for amplified international efforts to find a long-lasting and peaceful resolution to the Israeli-Palestinian conflict. He emphasized that such efforts are essential for the stabilization of the region and the establishment of lasting peace.
