New York: Pakistan has called for the enhancement of United Nations peace operations to ensure their effectiveness and proper implementation. This call was made during a briefing by the UN Secretary-General on the Review on the Future of All Forms of UN Peace Operations, where Pakistan’s Permanent Representative to the UN emphasized the importance of these missions.

According to Radio Pakistan, Ambassador Asim Iftikhar Ahmad, Pakistan’s envoy to the UN, stated that any reforms should not result in the weakening or hollowing out of the mandates of UN peacekeeping missions. He highlighted Pakistan’s longstanding role as a leading supporter of UN peacekeeping, describing it as the most visible and vital tool available to the United Nations for maintaining international peace and security.
