New York: Pakistan has expressed strong support for the evolving situation in Syria, highlighting a genuine opportunity for stabilization and recovery following years of conflict and humanitarian suffering.
According to Radio Pakistan, Usman Jadoon, Pakistan’s Deputy Permanent Representative to the UN, made these remarks during a UN Security Council briefing addressing the humanitarian and political situation in Syria. He urged the international community to seize and support this opportunity for Syria’s return to normalcy.
Jadoon also stressed the importance of a Syrian-owned and Syrian-led political process, advocating for broader participation to strengthen national cohesion and address the aspirations of the Syrian people. Additionally, he condemned the recent Israeli military actions against Syria, specifically denouncing the attack on Abu al-Duhur Airbase as a violation of international law.
Reaffirming Pakistan’s full support for Syria’s sovereignty and territorial integrity, Jadoon emphasized Pakistan’s commitment to the peace, stability, and prosperity of the Syrian people. He assured that Pakistan would continue to stand with Syria as it pursues a future of unity and stability.
