Islamabad, Pakistan’s Ambassador to the United States, Masood Khan, announced that the country’s tech industry has experienced significant growth in recent years, with its IT products and services gaining traction in the United States and other developed nations. He made this observation during a gathering in Washington with over thirty CEOs and founders of leading tech startup companies owned by Pakistani-Americans, which have evolved into multi-million-dollar entities offering technological and IT solutions in various sectors.
According to Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, Ambassador Masood Khan spoke to the group, outlining Pakistan’s achievements in the tech sector. He noted that Pakistani tech startups have received backing from major U.S. venture capitalists and praised the entrepreneurial skills of Pakistan’s tech-savvy youth, who are making a significant impact in the global market.
Ambassador Khan highlighted that Pakistan is poised to become a tech hub of the region, thanks to its growing integration into the tech ecosystem. He acknowledged the role of Paklaunch, an initiative supporting emerging entrepreneurs, and commended its founder, Aly Fahad, for his efforts. The Ambassador also emphasized the importance of the Special Investment Facilitation Council in promoting foreign investment in key sectors such as IT, agriculture, energy, and extractive industries.
To foster greater collaboration, it was decided that the Embassy of Pakistan would serve as a central point of contact to connect Pakistani-American entrepreneurs and tech companies with relevant ministries and departments in Pakistan. Ambassador Khan assured attendees of the embassy’s full support and facilitation in building these connections.
The meeting was attended by several prominent companies, including Breshna.io, American Institute of Artificial Intelligence, Dingman Center Angels, Capitol Technology, SnappRetail, Accenture, Capital One, Beaj Education, Unboxx Technologies, ioSENTRIX, Nurse Next Door, Teach The World Foundation, Zigron, Gepeto, XtremeLabs LLC, among others.
CEOs and founders shared their experiences and expressed appreciation for the Ambassador’s initiative to bring them together, facilitating networking and broadening their outreach.
