Islamabad: Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif engaged in a telephonic conversation with Turkmenistan President Serdar Berdimuhamedov to exchange Eidul Fitr greetings and best wishes. The call also included extending similar greetings to the Turkmen National Leader and Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty, Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, and the people of Turkmenistan.
During the conversation, the prime minister expressed satisfaction with the ongoing warm and friendly relations between Pakistan and Turkmenistan. He noted the positive momentum in bilateral ties and emphasized the importance of maintaining this trajectory through continued high-level exchanges.
Prime Minister Sharif referenced the visit of President Asif Ali Zardari to Ashgabat in October of the previous year as a step in this direction. He also expressed anticipation for hosting the Turkmen National Leader in Pakistan, a visit initially planned for last year but not realized. The prime minister reiterated his invitation to both the Turkmen President and the National Leader to visit Pakistan at their earliest convenience, as part of the ongoing efforts to strengthen ties between the two nations.
