Pakistan Offers Bangladesh Expertise in Legal Reforms and Justice System Digitalisation


Islamabad: Pakistan has extended an offer to share its experience and expertise in legal reforms and the digitalisation of the justice system with Bangladesh, aiming to enhance bilateral cooperation in these fields. This proposal was made by Federal Minister for Law & Justice Senator Azam Nazeer Tarar during a meeting with the High Commissioner of Bangladesh to Pakistan, Md. Iqbal Hussain Khan.



According to Press Information Department, the meeting, which took place on Monday, focused on strengthening Pakistan-Bangladesh relations and discussed various areas of mutual interest, including legal and judicial cooperation, mediation, and reconciliation mechanisms. Both parties expressed satisfaction with the positive developments in bilateral relations and agreed on the importance of further strengthening these ties.



Senator Tarar highlighted the potential for enhanced collaboration between the two countries in the fields of law and justice, suggesting that both nations could benefit from each other’s experiences in legal reforms and the application of modern technology to the justice system. He emphasized the need for continued exchange of experiences and expertise to improve the effectiveness of both countries’ justice systems.



The High Commissioner of Bangladesh expressed gratitude for Pakistan’s support in training Bangladeshi judges at the International Mediation & Arbitration Centre and acknowledged the cooperation provided by Pakistan’s Ministry of Law & Justice in mediation and reconciliation programs. He also conveyed Bangladesh’s interest in learning from Pakistan’s experiences in these areas and expressed a desire to strengthen cooperation further.



Discussions during the meeting also included topics such as legal reforms, the use of modern technology in the justice system, and opportunities for increased cooperation in other fields. Both sides welcomed the growing people-to-people and institutional contacts, viewing these developments as a positive sign for further strengthening Pakistan-Bangladesh relations and reaffirming their commitment to consolidating mutual cooperation.
