Quetta: An armed assault occurred at the Pakistan Customs Station in Mand, Radeeho Border, on the night of September 21, 2026. Multiple unidentified attackers invaded the premises, causing damage and injuring a customs officer.

According to Press Information Department, the assailants broke into the four-room Customs Station, set fire to the facility, and fired indiscriminately. Sepoy Muhammad Siraj of Pakistan Customs sustained two bullet wounds to his right arm during the attack. The Frontier Corps’ 165 Wing responded swiftly, leading to an exchange of gunfire. No further casualties have been reported, but preliminary investigations link the attack to threats received by Customs personnel following recent enforcement actions in the area.

These actions included detaining LPG bowsers and enforcing compliance on local and perishable goods. Threats were reportedly made against Customs staff after these measures. While the attackers are suspected to be affiliated with the banned BLA, this connection remains unconfirmed. The injured officer was initially treated at DHQ Hospital in Turbat and has been referred to Karachi for further care.

Pakistan Customs has condemned the attack and emphasized its commitment to protecting the nation’s borders and combating smuggling. The department is coordinating with the Frontier Corps and local authorities to enhance security and respond to threats. Despite the incident, Pakistan Customs remains dedicated to its mission of safeguarding the economy and enforcing legal compliance.
