Dhaka: In response to recent media inquiries regarding the financial support for students qualifying for Master’s degree programs in Pakistan under the Allama Iqbal Scholarships, clarification has been provided on the disbursement process. According to Press Information Department, while the disbursement details for Master’s students may differ from those of undergraduate students, all qualifying individuals will receive equivalent financial support.

The scholarship is a significant part of the Pakistan-Bangladesh Knowledge Corridor, introduced by DPM/FM Senator Muhammad Ishaq Dar during his visit to Dhaka in August 2025. The initiative aims to enhance educational cooperation and foster people-to-people contact between the two nations. Last year, 74 students from Bangladesh joined top-ranking universities in Pakistan as the first batch under this program. For the second batch, 125 students qualified for undergraduate programs, 22 for Master’s, and 14 for Ph.D. programs, out of more than 3,000 applicants. These students are expected to commence their studies in Pakistan soon after completing the required formalities.

The statement reaffirmed the commitment to strengthening educational ties and facilitating exchanges between Pakistan and Bangladesh.
