Islamabad: During a meeting chaired by Federal Minister for Energy (Power Division) Sardar Awais Ahmad Khan Leghari, he directed all Distribution Companies (DISCOs) to finalize and implement the Consumer Perception Survey methodology, criteria, and schedule without further delay. The survey aims to assess consumer satisfaction with the performance and services of the DISCOs.
According to Press Information Department, the Federal Minister emphasized that the survey’s criteria should align with the parameters set by the National Electric Power Regulatory Authority (NEPRA) to ensure that consumer feedback is given genuine and meaningful consideration. The findings from this exercise are intended to provide valuable input for future policymaking.
The Federal Minister instructed that the survey’s approval be expedited so that the process could commence promptly. The survey is to be conducted every six months, with at least one survey required during the summer season each year. He stated that the survey is not simply an administrative task but an expression of the government’s commitment to consumer welfare and service improvement.
The Minister also urged consumers to provide honest feedback during the survey, noting that their input is crucial for enhancing institutional performance. This feedback would enable the government and relevant authorities to make informed and transparent decisions, ultimately strengthening consumer confidence and satisfaction in the power sector.
